Difference Between Driving Licence (DL) and Learner's Licence (LL)

In India, there are two types of Driving Licences issued. These are Learner's Licence and Permanent Licence. The validity of Learner's Licence only for six months, and is given to people who wish to start learning to drive or ride a vehicle. An individual can obtain a permanent DL on passing written and practical exams, and only after a month of issuance of the initial learner's licence. Thus, one can apply for a DL only after getting a learner's licence. There needs to be a gap of one month between the two applications.
Do's and Don'ts
DO check the form once you have filled it in for errors or omissions.
DO carry the original documents with you when you go for your driving test.
DO remember that a Learner's Licence is valid only for 6 months.
DON'T submit fraudulent documents along with your application as you will be liable for penal action.
DON'T forget to attach a copy of your Learner's Licence when applying for a Driving Licence.
DON'T drive or ride (this includes while practicing) without a valid licence or documentation with you at all times.
