59 CHINESE APP LIST : The government has banned 59 Chinese apps, including the popular Chinese app TickTock. These Chinese apps are considered to be a matter of privacy protection. In addition to TikTock, other popular apps that have been banned include a total of 59 apps, including Shareite, Hello, UC Browser, Like and WeChat.
As per the order issued by the government, the government banned 59 mobile apps that were biased against India's sovereignty and integrity, India's defense, state security and public order.

A government press release announcing the ban stated: "The Ministry of Information Technology, invoking it’s power under section 69A of the Information Technology Act read with the relevant provisions of the Information Technology (Procedure and Safeguards for Blocking of Access of Information by Public) Rules 2009 and in view of the emergent nature of threats has decided to block 59 apps since in view of information available they are engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order".

The Indian Cyber Crime Coordinate Centre under the Ministry of Home Affairs Sent an exhaustive recommendation for blocking these "malicious apps, the IT ministry.
